Third year and still going strong, I know I have got my burning passion spreading out like wild fire this time round. I would say, throwing back to more than a decade ago when I always ponder on my purpose in life even though I was earning a decent salary that could provide not the world but some materialistic luxuries in life.

I have always felt a strong urge to unlock my real purpose in life, or at least living a more purposeful life. This became clear on one fateful day when I woke up in the morning with excruciating pain on my right hip that I could not even walk. After 2 dreadful days of staying in the hospital with lots of blood tests being done, pain and nerves relaxation medication and steroid injection, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia syndrome. That was a huge push factor for realising my burning passion that has been set deep inside me for a while – ‘to stay active and to continue moving throughout my life span, and being capable of helping others to be the same’.

We all make decisions and choices daily about how we live our lives. Sometimes, we make a choice with much thought into it and sometimes not so much, perhaps with some external influences. Each decision we make changes the way of how we live and where our path would be leading to. Personally, becoming a Pilates teacher is one of the best decisions ever; that I have given to myself after practicing Pilates and working in the corporate while trying to keep up in the rat race for more than a decade. Pilates is just one of the modalities that I practice and teach to others in maintaining a healthy living lifestyle, physical mobility and mind-body connection. It is a true satisfaction and fulfilment when I am able to share with others what I have to contribute to improving their quality of life. People need to realize and learn the fact that keeping a balance of their well-being physically, mentally and emotionally is an important key to introduce the world that is beyond what they could imagine as healthy living.
